Intellectual Property

NanoCor has a mature intellectual property portfolio resulting from the scientific work of Professor Richard Jude Samulski, Director of Gene Therapy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Professor Evangelia Kranias, Director of Cardiovascular Biology at the University of Cincinnati, and Professor Roger Hajjar at Mount Sinai Medical Center.

NanoCor has obtained rights to the patent-protected BNP® technology platform for cardiovascular applications.  This platform has been issued foundational patents in the US and has been allowed claims for a broad range of foreign filings.  NanoCor has also obtained an exclusive license to a proprietary, patent-protected gene developed by researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital and the University of Cincinnati.

BNPs are derived from Adeno-Associated Viral ("AAV") vectors, but exhibit a unique patent position and enhanced ability to efficiently express a transgene.
